India Gate’s original name was the All India war memorial that was built in memory of 82000 soldiers of the Indian army who lost their lives during the first world war ( 1914 to 1921). India gate is situated in Kingsway, the eastern edge of the ceremonial axis of Delhi. The architecture of India gate was world-famous, and around 13000 serviceman names were displayed on the gate. Its construction was started in 1921 and completed in 1931, the gate is 42 m tall and 9.1 m wide.

You can visit India Gate at any time as it opens on all days 24 hours. There is no entry fee. You can enjoy visiting India Gate during the months of October and march with your family and friends peacefully during that time.

2) Humayun’s Tomb

It is a major historical destination in Delhi, Humayun’s is the tomb of the  Mughal Emperor of India Humayun. It is situated in Nizamuddin East in Delhi, the walled garden of this tomb attracts tourists in summer. There are several monuments near the tomb, the construction of the tomb was started in 1565 and completed in 1572. The building is made of red sandstone and white marble. You can visit the tomb between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Indian citizens have to pay Rs. 10 to enter the tomb, for other foreign nations, it is 250 per person to enter into the Tomb.

3) Hauz Khas

Hauz Khas is one of the historically important places in south Delhi. It exhibits both rural and urban atmosphere, surrounded by the green park to the west and Gulmohar park towards the north. also  It is a popular place for couples in Delhi to spend some quality time. Some of the interesting facts are Hauz Khas pubs, village clubs, restaurants, cafes for many of the visitors.

Hauz Khas will be open on all days from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, and there is no entry fee.

4) Qutab Minar

Qutab Minar is a valuable structure of India, situated in the Mehrauli area of Delhi. The structure is made of red sandstone and marble at a height of 73 meters. The main feature of this structure is its spiral staircase of 379 steps. The construction of this structure was started in 1192 and completed in 1220. There are several historical monuments like the Qutub complex around this tower.

You can visit this place during the day time. The entry fee for Indian Citizens is Rs. 30 and for foreign nationals Rs.500.

5) Red Fort

The Red Fort In Delhi is a brilliant architectural beauty, which was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal dynasty for more than 200 years. It was the political and cultural center of the Mughal state, Red Fort is a golden feather in the crown of Delhi. The red fort structure is amazing, the walls shine in red sandstone, and the fort is managed by the Archeological Survey of India. Every evening a show will be conducted here regarding the history of the Red fort. And a light and sound show at the fort starts at 6:00 pm. The fort will be open on all days except Monday, the timing is from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. The entry fee for Indian citizens is Rs. 10 and for foreign citizens, it is 150 Rs.

6) Akshardham Temple

Akshardham temple is an amazing temple in Delhi, it is best known for its spiritual and cultural values. The temple showcases the Hindu and Indian culture, spirituality, and architecture. People from all over the world came here to visit the temple and understand the facts of spirituality. The temple is situated on the banks of the Yamuna river in eastern Delhi. Akshardham offers many attractions including boat rides. The temple is more charming, the walls are carved with images of flora, fauna, musicians, etc.

The entry time is between 9:30 am to 6: 30 pm. And it is completely free
